Friday… finally! Here are my favorite finds of the week:
Godiva Hazelnut Creme Coffee
I definitely adore my coffee in the morning and I tried this little gem for the first time this week. Not only does it have the perfect hint of hazelnut flavor, but it will make wherever you’re brewing it smell like absolute heaven.
The Garden of Eden by Ernest Hemingway
This novel is by far one of my favorite novels by my favorite author. It is such an excellent and gripping story and I would encourage anyone to read it.
Vintage Jungle Fever Dress at Telltale Hearts Vintage
Telltale Hearts is a shop in L.A. that specializes in selling both vintage and contemporary clothing. I recently began following them on Twitter (@telltalevintage) and one of the fabulous items they featured on their page this week was the dress pictured above. I am ALL ABOUT long sleeves and ruffles and I can’t wait to add this lovely piece to my closet.
Topshop Spot Pussybow Scarf
Topshop, black & white, polka dots… need I say more? Love this little accessory.
Topshop Giggles Heart Pointed Court Shoes
These are just too adorable.
(Disclaimer: No one associated with any of the items pictured above have asked or compensated me to feature said items. I want to make sure everyone knows that. I just really love these items!)
Hope everyone has an excellent weekend. I’m looking forward to a girls night out with my sister, a little shopping, and some time spent working on the blog and another project I have in the works 🙂
Both of my sisters celebrate birthdays this month so I’m off to do a little shopping. Hopefully the Columbus Day sales will allow a little extra spending! Honestly, is there anything better than shopping? Even if I don’t purchase anything, I really love just being in the stores, viewing all the merchandise, seeing the trends… even the department store window displays make me happy.
In other news, I created a Twitter account for this blog–follow me @K_Loves_Fashion!
And here are my five favorite items this week:
Ever Babu Knit Dress
Pour La Victoire Agalia Platform Booties
Rebecca Minkoff 'Swing' Double Chain Leather Shoulder Bag
Rag & Bone Brent Zip Jacket
Marc by Marc Jacobs Large Henry Glitz Watch
In my family, I am the oldest of three girls. My two younger sisters and I love to share clothes, shoes, purses… all things fashion. For a little fashion inspiration, they always tune into E! to watch the Kardashian sisters. I never really paid attention to the show until recently, and now that I do, I’m totally hooked on Kourtney’s style. In my opinion, she is definitely the most fashionable of the Kardashian sisters. Take a look at some of my favorite Kourtney outfits:
Kourtney looking very chic in a floral jumpsuit, nude Louboutins, and carrying an Hermes Birkin bag
This look is gorgeous. She looks extremely fashion-forward. I love how she pairs the floral jumpsuit, which is primarily yellow, with the orange Birkin and coral lips. The brown belt and nude Louboutins complement the color palette. The sky-high heels elongate her figure enough so that the jumpsuit does not look dowdy on her tiny frame.
Kourtney Kardashian wearing an Alexander Berardi blouse
As displayed in the photo above, Kourtney has a knack for always looking polished yet carefree and a bit windswept at the same time. Her style, especially her casual style, is quite effortless.
Kourtney wearing a dress from her own (along with sisters Kim and Khloe) collection, Kardashian Kollection
I love this dress from the Kardashian Kollection. The femininity and conservativeness of the dress make it really reminiscent of Kourtney’s signature style. When she dresses up, she loves to look very girly and favors mini dresses like the one pictured above, and always pairs them with sky-high Louboutins.
Kourtney dressed in jeans and flats - her signature casual look - with her boyfriend Scott and their son Mason
Kourtney Kardashian is totally my style crush right now.
Hey dolls. Here are my five favorite items to covet this week (each photo is linked back to site where you can purchase the item):
Michael Kors "Charlton" Crossbody Bag in Bronze
Suede Loafers from Madewell in Orchid
Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Feather' Jersey Knit Top
Chanel Lipstick in "Audace"
Rachel Zoe Bella Platform Booties
Let’s talk Emmy fashion. This night of awards for prime time television took place two nights ago, and I’m going to go ahead and say that I think the fashion was pretty terrible. There were a few good looks, but mostly awful dresses. So here goes my little rant.
Kate Winslet wore an Elie Saab Resort 2012 red gown. I think I wanted to throw up at all the red on the red carpet, but she pulled it off pretty well. Also, the girl from the Vampire Diaries–Nina something? She wore red as well and I think she looked lovely. HOWEVER – it stops there. Everyone else who wore red missed the mark, especially Lea Michelle–her Marchesa gown was too overwhelming for her tiny frame. Her hair was also too casual, in my opinion.
Sophia Vergara wore a dress that did not show outrageous cleavage for once. It was a lovely coral Vera Wang mermaid gown. I thought Zooey Deschanel looked ADORABLE in Monique Lhuillier. A lot of critics are making fun of her but I totally dug her sweet dress and pretty hair. She reminded me of a cupcake–in a good way!
Evan Rachel Wood was my favorite of the night. I’m a bit biased because she is one of my favorite actresses, but the black dress she chose is absolutely exquisite—very old Hollywood glamour. Also–OMG LENA HEADEY’S DRESS & SHOES. I think she looked amazing! A long-sleeved black dress is a favorite look of mine and the pink Brian Atwood pumps added a nice fun factor to the outfit. Her hair and makeup looked gorgeous as well.
In my opinion, Gwenyth Paltrow looked all sorts of ridiculous in her Pucci dress. I don’t care how “fabulous” her body is—this dress is inappropriate for anyone over the age of 25. It also made her look like she had a chubby tummy, even though she does not. So yeah, the opposite of flattering. And Katie Holmes–why won’t you wear a dress that fits your frame properly?
I do not like the fact that Christina Hendricks always wears short heels. I wanted to gag at the color of Kristen Wig’s dress. And Diana Argon’s blue disaster of a dress was, well… a disaster.
So, as I mentioned before, some good lucks, but for the majority of attendees–better luck next time, ladies.
She may only be a fictional character on a television show, but Blair Waldorf certainly kills it in the style department. If I had beaucoup bucks to spend, I would surely be her identical clothes twin. I’m a big fan of Gossip Girl and there is rarely an outfit of Blair’s that I do not covet.
Take the outfit pictured above in the center of the frame. To me, this is just genuis. Layering at its finest and the combination of textures is to die for. I am a TOTAL sucker for anything lacey and girly.
Eric Damon, the show’s fashion director, is very particular when it comes to Blair. Her outfits are always planned out to the very last detail and usually accompanied with her signature headband (mainly in seasons one and two).
I am always inspired after watching an episode of Gossip Girl and often find myself rummaging through my closet to mix and match pieces and create ensembles that give off the preppy yet sexy and polished vibes that are shown by Blair.
One of my favorite Blair outfits

The September issue of Vogue Italia features model Stella Tennant in a series of avant-garde photos, several of which display a severly cinched waist, as seen below:

I love this photograph. Apparently these photos were inspired by a woman named Ethel Granger, who boasts a record-breaking tiny waist, measured at a mere thirteen inches. Granger achieved this through many years of donning corsets (during the day and, eventually, the night while sleeping).
Though this photo is quite dramatic, I must admit that I do love a tiny waist combined with fuller hips, as opposed to a more streamlined, straight look. For instance, I love a nice blouse that cinches at the waist, paired with a full skirt, a la Grace Kelly:
I absolutely adore Kate Middleton. Yes, I’m one of those Americans who got sucked into the royal wedding excitement. It doesn’t help that I’m a total hopeless romantic, and watching the two of them exchange vows was incredibly heartwarming.
What especially excited me about the wedding was the gorgeous gown Kate wore, designed by Sarah Burton of the Alexander McQueen fashion house, shown below:
- From left: Prince William and Kate Middleton, in Alexander McQueen
There are so many things I adore about this dress, number one being the sleeves! I am not a fan of the popular strapless gown so to see Kate choose a dress with sleeves was fantastic. And for me, the fact that the sleeves are lace is just icing on the cake. Her dress is dramatic, but not overtly so, and I just think she looks like the perfect princess.
I think Kate’s everyday fashion is inspiring as well. Her style is a brilliant mix of conservative and sexy. Kate always looks effortless and is totally my style crush right now. Here are some of my favorite looks of hers:
- Kate in Alexander McQueen
- Kate in a sexy black sequin dress with black boots – love!
- OBSESSED with the coat and hat
